Learn to tame that kayak!
This is your chance to learn how to enjoy your time on flat water in a kayak.
Two, three hour sessions will be offered each day during this event.
Each three hour session is the same, but molded to each student, and goes in depth with basic kayak and safety skills.
Learn from an experienced instructor who started teaching water skills to Boy Scouts at the age of 14.
In addition to basic kayaking skills, this course will also include water safety, types of kayaks, paddles and PFDs and how to be conservation minded while kayaking. All equipment needed for the course will be provided.Note: Even though PFDs (life jackets) will be provided and required, swimming proficiency is also required.
Course will take place at the Hilton Recreation Area on Lake Murray.
Space is limited to 6 participants per session. This allows us to provide dedicated instruction to each participant.
Cost of each session is $60 per person and includes all equipment.Reserve a spot online!
*Scout Leaders and Parents - This course will cover all requirements of the Kayaking Merit Badge. - Scouts must have already completed and passed their BSA Swim Test.*

Harbison State Forest boasts several miles of interconnected trails that are very well maintained.
There are many levels of difficulty great for anyone just starting out or even seasoned hikers.
There is a $5 parking fee per vehicle, but this can be avoided if I provide transportation.
